The factory
Sialkot, since 1981.
Long Life Surgical Industries began in 1981 as a small exporter of medical instruments. Over four decades of steady investment in skills and research, it became a manufacturer with one clear focus: the laryngoscope.
Who we are
A family of craftspeople, engineers and exporters.
Sialkot has made surgical instruments for more than a century, and the city's skill with steel runs through our work. We combine that heritage with modern manufacturing, fiber optics and LED technology, and with a quality system built for the world's most demanding markets.
Our greatest strength is a simple recognition: our products help clinicians keep patients breathing. That is why we specialise, why we document everything, and why we answer every enquiry personally.
Irfan Aslam, founder and chief executive

Our people
The people behind every laryngoscope.
No call centre, no anonymous inbox. These are the people you will actually deal with, and every message reaches one of them by name.
A word from our founder
Somewhere tonight, a doctor will reach for one of our laryngoscopes in a moment that really matters. I want the light to come on, every single time. That thought is why we specialise, and why we never cut a corner.

01
Incoming material
Medical-grade stainless steel, brass for chrome-plated handles, optical fibers, LEDs and packaging arrive with their material certificates and are checked against specification before anything is made.

02
Forming the blade
Each blade is cut, forged and machined to the profile of its pattern and size: the curve of a Macintosh, the straight line of a Miller, the hinged tip of a MacFlex.

03
Machining the handle
Handle bodies are turned and knurled for a secure grip with gloved hands, then finished in stainless steel or chrome-plated brass.

04
Grinding and polishing
Blades are ground and polished to a smooth finish without sharp edges. A satin finish reduces glare under theatre lights.

05
Fiber optics and light
Fiber-optic light guides are fitted into the blade and the light source, LED or xenon, into the handle. Light leaves the blade close to the tip.

06
Assembly and fitting
The hook-on fitting is assembled and adjusted so the blade locks firmly in the working position and releases cleanly.
Positive lock · smooth release
-
07
Light and function test
Blades and handles are tested together: the blade is opened onto the handle, the light must come on, and the lock must hold.

Marking, cleaning and packing
Each product is laser marked, cleaned and packed with a label carrying its lot number, which links back to the production and inspection records.
